Jadis tugged on her sleeve to go further down her arm so she could feel the familiar pressure of the jacket against her back just as a reassurance that no one could see her scars.
Grabbing her box packed full of stuff and her suitcase full of clothes she headed up to the unfamiliar college that was full of unfamiliar people.
She was nervous that this was a school that prided themselves on having grown up with one another.
Even though she was nervous of everything that was floating in her thoughts she refused to move anymore, she had moved so much because of her father and his problems that all she wanted was to move here and not have to worry about moving again. She had look at this school and this location for so long that she had fallen in love with it and she was convinced this was going to be a great place for a new start, far enough away from her father that no one would even know who she was or go rooting around in her past.
She understood that she would have to change everything about herself since she could see so much of her father in herself even with how much she hated to admit it.
The way she walked was intimidating, the way she talked would have to be toned down to pg-13, and her hobbies couldn't be destructive anymore; and she could feel it all washing away with every step she took toward the school.
While walking down the hall she saw a guy in the opposite direction where she could practically see everyone parting for him so when he walked past her it took everything she had to not stand right there and make him walk around her. So when she moved back for him and averted her eyes to the floor she was proud of herself, the first step to her new self.
When he pasted her she looked back up and let her eyes go in the direction he had walked before heading toward the girls dorms.
Sitting her box on the bed and the suitcase on the floor she just stood there looking at her stuff, she wanted to cry at the fact that her life had been condensed down to a box and suitcase but she wasn't going to let herself cry because of her father ever again.
She knew that she needed to go get some more clothes but she wasn't sure if she was up for that just yet so she put up the little bit of clothes she had and saw that it only filled half of the small closet and then made her bed and set up her clock before heading down to the cafe to see what kind of food they had because she was ravenous from the move.
